Tips for a Slimmer Thanksgiving



As we all know, the holidays are approaching. During this time, excuses for gaining weight come up and we all have to resist these holiday treats that come to the office every day! Well, this is our chance to say NO and get ready to lose weight this season. Thanksgiving is a time to have fun and spend time with friends and family. There are many ways to have fun, but there are also many ways to be smart about our choices this Thanksgiving!

Here are a few tips and tricks to stay healthy and happy this Turkey Day:

Start your day with a healthy breakfast to speed up your metabolism.

Example: 4 oz. egg whites
½ cup of oatmeal
1/4 banana

Do your training early! Challenge yourself MORE than you normally do; this will help you make healthier choices for the rest of the day!

Here is a great example turkey burn:

5 turns total

20 pop Squats
20 pass lunges (each leg)
10 burpees with tuck jump
20 high jumps
20 alien squats
Optional: Use 5lb, 10lb, or 15lb dumbbells for higher intensity.

Small portion sizes. When preparing your Thanksgiving plate, start with smaller portions. Most of the time, our eyes are much larger than our stomachs. Stop eating when you start to feel full! This will prevent that miserable overeating feeling.

Slowly SAVOR. When choosing your dinner plate (if possible), choose healthier options such as whole wheat bread and sweet potatoes.

Have fun! Take this time to enjoy your family and friends. Don’t stress over being too hard on yourself!

Thanksgiving is a time to enjoy those around us and be thankful for everything we have! Today, try to focus on maintaining your weight rather than losing it.
